Hello,

My publishing company is building a yellow page-style phone book and we are testing InData for future purchase, we've seen it can dramatically reduce our production time...

The "Creating a Company Phone List" chapter of the InData user guide was very helpful and gave us a start for building our statement. Our database has the following fields: COMPANY, CATEGORY, ADDRESS, TEL, CODE, and CITY.

Our goal is to get something like this:

-CATEGORY-
CITY1 (CODE)
COMPANY [Tab] TEL
ADDRESS
CITY2 (CODE)
COMPANY [Tab] TEL

ADDRESS
CITY3 (CODE)

COMPANY [Tab] TEL

ADDRESS
-CATEGORY-

CITY1 (CODE)

COMPANY [Tab] TEL

ADDRESS

CITY2 (CODE)

COMPANY [Tab] TEL

ADDRESS

CITY3 (CODE)

COMPANY [Tab] TEL

ADDRESS

Where CATEGORY has many companies in different cities inside of it. We came with the following statement:

«fields COMPANY, CATEGORY, ADDRESS, TEL, CODE, CITY¶

«if CITY <> prev CITY»«if CATEGORY <> prev CATEGORY»«CATEGORY»«endif»¶

«CITY» («CODE»)¬

«endif»«COMPANY»(tab)«TEL»¬

«ADD»¶

#

But with that statement we get gaps in the categories. We have tried many ways to to group the cities inside the categories correctly but the plugin does not seem to do it.

Also tried:

«fields COMPANY, CATEGORY, ADDRESS, TEL, CODE, CITY¶
«repeat while COMPANY<>prev COMPANY»«CATEGORY»¶
«CITY» («CODE»)¬
«COMPANY»(tab)«TEL»¬
«ADD»«read»«end repeat»¶

#

Are we missing something? can you help us?
