[EmData] can't-change-character-styles error

Might have REPLIED incompletely - 

This error occurs with specific fonts, and when it does occur, it cannot
be corrected in the manner you described. The only solution is to
re-type the entire statement and delete the offending statement. We have
had this problem since InData 2/InDesign 2 when using Linotype Bembo. 

Thankfully, this error only occurs when editing an existing prototype
command. 

BTW, we have also encountered other font-related issues with InData,
most commonly when using Windows fonts from House Industries (which,
unfortunately, a lot of designers LOVE).

Use your cursor to select the whole statement, including the opening and
closing chevrons. It must all be in the same font, same size, same style
etc. You will find that something is different.

I like this error as it is usually the easiest sort to fix!
